Google released a new video today showing off “How It Feels [through Glass]“. I really look forward to actually trying these out in the future. Glass looks like it could be the new action sports video recorder with some really cool features.

Video Taping Will Executions

Well, you could purchase video equipment yourself, but it’s more than just pressing the record button and saying, “action”.  For those who are not technically savvy or for those who want to ensure the highest possible quality, the best option is to hire a professional.  Professionals understand the complicated workings of audio/visual equipment and have the training to enhance the quality of the video.

A professional videographer in the legal field is referred to as a Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS).  Not only is a CLVS a proficient videographer, he is well-versed in legal procedures and protocol.  Legal videographers follow guidelines set by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA).

Reasons to use a CLVS:

• A CLVS is usually a notary.
• A CLVS will remain unbiased.
• A CLVS uses date and time on the video.  The video can establish the exact time sequence of the will execution.
• A CLVS ensures authentication of the record.  The introduction is read by the CLVS which states the date, time, and those present.  Each time the recording is stopped and resumed, it is logged.
• A CLVS preserves the original video and certifies that the video is accurate and complete and is unedited.  The original video is sent to the drafting attorney.  The original video is not and cannot be edited, unless requested by the drafting attorney, in which case there will be an edited version in conjunction with the original video.

In conclusion, a video provided by a CLVS will prove that the will was properly executed.  The video will preserve nonverbal cues of the subject’s demeanor, facial expressions, and gestures as well as the tone and inflection in their voice.
